Job Description

A countertop installer is responsible for measuring, cutting, and installing countertops in residential and commercial spacesThis role involves working with various materials like granite, quartz, laminate, and wood, ensuring precise installation and a polished finish. They may also be involved in removing old countertops, preparing surfaces, and potentially handling plumbing connections related to sinks. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately measuring the space for countertops and creating templates to guide the cutting and fabrication process.
  • Cutting countertop materials to the correct dimensions and shapes, potentially using specialized tools and machinery.
  • Mounting countertops, ensuring proper alignment, levelness, and secure attachment to cabinets or supporting structures.
  • Joining countertop sections with epoxy or other suitable materials, creating seamless and aesthetically pleasing seams, and potentially polishing or sealing the surface.
  • Installing sinks, potentially including plumbing connections (though some installers may not handle wet plumbing), and ensuring proper sealing and drainage.
  • Installing backsplashes that complement the countertops and complete the overall kitchen or bathroom design.
  • Safely loading, unloading, and moving materials to and from the job site.
  • Interacting with clients, addressing their concerns, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Following all safety protocols and maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Keeping the work area clean and organized during and after installation.
  • Identifying and resolving any issues that arise during the installation process.

Skill & Qualifications

  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools, reading blueprints, and understanding construction principles.
  • The ability to lift heavy materials, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Ensuring precise measurements, cuts, and installations.
  • Addressing unexpected challenges and finding solutions during installation.
  • Providing excellent service and building rapport with clients.
  • Collaborating effectively with other installers and team members.
